The Dream

I was working in a dark room and then someone started chasing me and sprayed green silly string at my face. I was blocking the string with my hand.

Your Child's Dream Symbols

Instrument

Children who dream about instruments may wish to learn something new, master new skills, or develop talents. For adolescent boys, instruments may also represent sensuality and pleasure.

Chasing

Being chased or attacked in a dream is quite scary for any individual, especially a child. And these nightmares are actually quite common. After all, how many times have you woken up from one of them feeling anxious and helpless, yet relieved once you've discovered the experience wasn't real. These dreams are our way of sorting out a conflict we're dealing with in everyday life, and this type of internal struggle is similar for children. They may be reacting to a perceived or real threat (e.g., a school bully or a mean sibling) or an obstacle to getting something they want.

Green

Depending on the dreamer's personal associations with the color green, it can take on different meanings. Villains and monsters can be depicted in a gruesome green color. The idioms "green-eyed monster" and "green with envy" are common idioms, so if your child is jealous of someone or feels someone is jealous of her, the color green could be depicted in a dream. On the flip side, green is associated with spring and new beginnings. In addition, the dreamer who pictures a green stoplight might feel she's headed in the right direction in life and making good choices.

Hand

We use our hands to get what we want. Plus, hands can be used constructively or destructively, depending on whether we use them to help or harm others as well as ourselves.
